This is a demo, not a live shared board

Demo data stays in this browser only. There is no Whitstable D1 database, no server-side Friday mail list, and no Stripe checkout on this demo. Pins, listings and demo mail signups you add here are not shared with other visitors and are not a live CT5 noticeboard.

What is stored (and where)

  • Sample content ships with the static site (HTML/JS). Anyone can load those samples.
  • Anything you pin or list is saved in localStorage on your device under demo keys (board cache and optional demo mail list).
  • Install hint: a localStorage flag if you dismiss the PWA install bar.
  • No sale of data — we are not collecting Whitstable subscriber or payment data on this demo.

Clearing this site’s data in your browser wipes your demo pins and demo mail entries. Reloading the page will bring back the sample starter set unless you have your own saved copy.

Cookies, analytics and trackers

No analytics, no AdSense, no tracking consent banner — we are not inventing trackers for this demo.

  • Cloudflare Pages hosts the static files and may apply ordinary CDN / security behaviour.
  • Google Fonts are loaded from Google (Google may see your IP when fonts load).
  • Service worker: may cache the shell (HTML/CSS/JS/icons) for offline use of the demo.
  • Optional outbound links (for example Amazon book links) leave this site if you click them.

When Whitstable goes live

A future production Whitstable board would get its own honest privacy notice (likely closer to the live Thanet model: shared database, mail list, optional Stripe). This demo page will not magically become that notice. Until then, treat everything here as browser-local experiment data.

Your rights

Because this demo does not keep a server-side Whitstable personal-data store, most UK GDPR rights are exercised by clearing your own browser storage. If you reach us at dragon_fire_li81@outlook.com about Seawall generally, we will still help.
